October 16 MLB Playoff Betting Tips

That was a weird game. The Dodgers bullpen and the Phillies starters are supposed to be their strengths, but last night it was more like the opposite. One thing we did learn is that these teams can score a lot of runs. We see the Dodgers tying up the series this afternoon sending this one back to Philly. I wouldn’t be surprised at another slugfest.
Speaking of slugfests that’s exactly what we see in the Angels/Yankees series that starts tonight. Check this stat from Bodog:
The total has gone OVER in 5 of LA Angels’s last 6 games when playing on the road against NY Yankees.

October 15 MLB Playoffs Betting Tips

Playoffs: 3-2

An interesting first round for both of these teams. Some people didn’t think the Dodgers had a chance against the Cardinals and I personally found each game to be really hard to pick. In the end a little talent and a little luck led to their sweep of the top seeded Cardinals. The Phillies on the other hand showed why they are the defending champions with their game 4 comeback (to the Rockies comeback).
This should be a good series that I expect to go at least six games, but in Game 1 it’s all about the Dodgers. They are better rested, have the better bullpen and Hamels didn’t look as unbeatable as he did last season in his previous start. Hamels gave up 7 hits and 4 runs in just 5 innings of work before leaving to tend to his wife who went into labor. (Anyone with kids should know that a newborn definitely expects your sleeping pattern. I don’t expect Cole at 100%.) That being said there is still Randy Wolf Clayton Kershaw on the other side of the field so we definitely see this game going over. As for the winner, coupled with more rest and the homefield advantage we see the Dodgers taking this game and the series.
